This privacy policy (“Policy“) describes how TC International Holdings, Inc. and its related companies (“Company“) collect, use and share personal information of users of the Off the Grid mobile application (the “App“) and the website www.offthegridapp.com (the “Site“), collectively referred to as the “Services.” This Policy applies to all information collected through the App and the Site.

WHAT WE COLLECT

We get information about you in the follow ways.

Information You Give Us. We collect your‎ name, email address as well as other information you directly give us on our Site. We collect information you provide through the App, including blocking schedules, app selections, whitelist contact preferences, auto-reply message configurations, and other settings you configure within the App.

Information We Get From Others. We may get information about you from other sources. We may add this to information we get from this Site. We may receive information about your app installation and marketing attribution from third-party analytics services described below.

Information Automatically Collected. We automatically log information about you and your computer. For example, when visiting our Site, we log your computer operating system type, browser type, browser language, the website you visited before browsing to our Site, pages you viewed, how long you spent on a page, access times and information about your use of and actions on our Site. When you use the App, we automatically collect device information (device type, operating system and version), device identifiers (advertising ID, app instance identifiers), app interaction events, and general usage data. We also collect the list of applications installed on your device to allow you to select which apps to block.

Cookies. We may log information using “cookies.” Cookies are small data files stored on your hard drive by a website. We may use both session Cookies (which expire once you close your web browser) and persistent Cookies (which stay on your computer until you delete them) to provide you with a more personal and interactive experience on our Site.  This type of information is collected to make the Site more useful to you and to tailor the experience with us to meet your special interests and needs.

Data Retention. We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide the Services and fulfill the purposes described in this Policy.

Local App Data: Schedules, blocking preferences, whitelist contacts, auto-reply settings, and other configurations are stored on your device and persist until you clear the App’s data or uninstall the App.

Analytics Data: Data collected through our third-party analytics services is retained according to each provider’s policies:

          • Firebase Analytics: user-level data is retained for up to 14 months; aggregated, non-identifiable reports may be retained for longer periods.
          • Amplitude: event data is retained for the duration of our use of Amplitude’s services unless deletion is requested.
          • AppsFlyer: user-level attribution data is retained for up to 24 months.
          • Microsoft Clarity: session recordings are retained for 30 days; aggregated analytics data (heatmaps, click data) is retained for up to 13 months.
          • Facebook / Meta: retention periods are subject to Meta’s Privacy Policy (https://www.facebook.com/privacy/policy/).

Device Permissions and On-Device Data. The App requires certain device permissions to provide its core functionality. The data accessed through these permissions is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to our servers or third parties unless stated otherwise.

Usage Statistics Access: allows the App to detect which apps are being used, in order to enforce your blocking schedules.

Display Over Other Apps: allows the App to show the blocking overlay when a blocked app is opened.

Notification Access: allows the App to detect incoming messages during blocking sessions and send auto-replies you have configured. Notification content is not stored beyond the active session.

Installed Applications: allows the App to display your installed apps so you can select which ones to block.

Contacts: allows you to add contacts to your whitelist so they can reach you during blocking sessions.

Call Screening: allows the App to screen incoming calls during blocking sessions based on your whitelist.

Third-Party Analytics Services.  The App uses the following third-party services to help us understand how the App is used and to measure marketing effectiveness:

        • Firebase Analytics (Google LLC) gathers app usage analytics and crash reporting through app instance ID, device identifiers and app interaction events.
        • Amplitude (Amplitude, Inc.) gathers product analytics through device ID, app interaction events and device metadata.
        • AppsFlyer (AppsFlyer Ltd.) gathers marketing attribution through advertising ID, device information as well as install and engagement data.
        • Microsoft Clarity (Microsoft Corporation) gathers session analytics through device identifiers, interaction events and session metadata.
        • Facebook / Meta (Meta Platforms, Inc.) gathers app event analytics through device identifiers and app interaction events.

USE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We use your personal information as follows:

    • We use your personal information to operate, maintain, and improve our sites, products, and services.
    • We use your personal information to respond to comments and questions and provide customer service.
    • We use your personal information to send information including confirmations, invoices, technical notices, updates, security alerts, and support and administrative messages.
    • We use your personal information to communicate about promotions, upcoming events, and other news about products and services offered by us and our selected partners.
    • We use your personal information to link or combine user information with other personal information.
    • We use your personal information to provide and deliver products and services customers request.

SHARING OF PERSONAL INFORMATION

We may share personal information as follows:

    • We may share personal information with your consent. For example, you may let us share personal information with others for their own marketing uses. Those uses will be subject to their privacy policies.
    • We may share personal information when we do a business deal, or negotiate a business deal, involving the sale or transfer of all or a part of our business or assets. These deals can include any merger, financing, acquisition, or bankruptcy transaction or proceeding.
    • We may share personal information for legal, protection, and safety purposes.
    • We may share information to comply with laws.o We may share information to respond to lawful requests and legal processes.
    • We may share information to protect the rights and property of TC International Holdings, Inc., our agents, customers, and others. This includes enforcing our agreements, policies, and terms of use.
    • We may share information in an emergency. This includes protecting the safety of our employees and agents, our customers, or any person.
    • We may share information with those who need it to do work for us.

We may also share aggregated and/or anonymized data with others for their own uses.

INFORMATION CHOICES AND CHANGES

Our marketing emails tell you how to “opt-out.” If you opt out, we may still send you non-marketing emails. Non-marketing emails include emails about your accounts and our business dealings with you.

You may send requests about personal information to our Contact Information below. You can request to change contact choices, opt-out of our sharing with others, and update your personal information.

You can typically remove and reject cookies from our Site with your browser settings. Many browsers are set to accept cookies until you change your settings. If you remove or reject our cookies, it could affect how our Site works for you.

You can delete all locally stored App data at any time by clearing the App’s data in your device settings (Settings > Apps > Off the Grid > Clear Data) or by uninstalling the App.

To request deletion of analytics data that has been transmitted to our third-party analytics providers, contact us at support@offthegridapp.com with the subject line “Data Deletion Request.” Upon receiving your request, we will submit deletion requests to each applicable analytics provider and complete processing within 30 days.

Please note that aggregated or anonymized data that can no longer be linked to you may be retained, and Microsoft Clarity data is automatically purged after its retention period and cannot be individually deleted beforehand.

CHILDREN’S PRIVACY

The App is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If we discover that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, we will delete it promptly. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us at support@offthegridapp.com.

DATA SECURITY

We are committed to protecting your information. We use encryption in transit and other industry-standard measures to help protect your data from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

YOUR PRIVACY RIGHTS

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights regarding your personal data:

    • Right to access and obtain a copy of your data
    • Right to correct inaccurate data
    • Right to request deletion of your data
    • Right to restrict or object to processing
    • Right to data portability

If you are a California resident, you also have the right to know what personal information we collect and whether we sell it. We do not sell your personal information.

INTERNATIONAL DATA TRANSFERS

Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our analytics providers operate. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your country. By using the App, you acknowledge this transfer.
